Strawberry Festival
June 23, 2024 from 1:00-4:00 PM
On June 23 we will welcome residents and visitors to stop by to enjoy home-made strawberry shortcakes, music by Always in Season, and lawn games for the young and the young-at-heart. Shortcakes (gluten-free option on request) with optional toppings of strawberries, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, and hot fudge will be available for purchase. The price will be $8 or $10, depending on the number of toppings you choose. We will also have cold drinks for sale in the barn.
If you would like to volunteer, we have a few options for you! We will be baking the shortcakes on Thursday, June 20, starting at 9:00 a.m in the HHS barn kitchen. It will be hot, but we are sure to have some fun working together. Washing and slicing the strawberries will take place on Saturday, June 22, starting at 8:00 a.m. in the kitchen at the Congregational Church. Of course, on the festival day itself, we also need volunteers to whip the whipped cream (12 noon), serve the shortcakes (1-4), and clean up (3-5). To fill one (or more) of the volunteer slots on any of these three days, please notify Bill Hatch, who is coordinating the task assignments.
