A Walk Through Central Burial Ground (beside Town Hall)–postponed to Sunday, November 5th at 3:00 PM due to rain.
Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 3:30pm–postponed to Nov 5th, 3:00 PM
A good-sized crowd gathered on November 5, 2023 to walk in the cemetery and learn about some of the people who are buried there. The traffic sounds and the crunchy autumn leaves made it difficult to hear at times, but Joanne Hulbert gave an interesting talk, as always. As the sun set, refreshments and a social on the front steps of Town Hall followed. Thank you to Pat Periera and Sheila Adams for providing the refreshments and to Joanne for so thoroughly researching the lives of these former Hollistonians.
Gather at the front steps of the Town Hall at 3:30pm on Sunday, October 29th and we will proceed to visit the final resting place of several notable characters. It will be an interesting walk through Holliston’s history! Hear stories about people who once walked our streets and helped make Holliston the town we know today. About a dozen “people” will be visited and you will hear their their stories of tragedy, romance and sometimes a bit of humor.
All will leave with new sense of what our town was like centuries ago. The Central Burying Ground is a unique place to experience an important part of Holliston and history.
We will also hear about the project to restore and repair many of the memorial stones. Light refreshments will follow the presentation. Please join us!
